Referrals

To refer neonates and arrange transportation, please call the UNC Transfer Center 919-843-1920. State that you wish to transfer a patient, and your call can be handled as expeditiously as possible.

Back Transportation

We will make every effort to back transport your patients to their community once the baby, the family, and your nursery is ready.

Follow-Up

Patients who meet the criteria for Special Infant Care Clinic (SICC) will have this clinic appointment arranged; however, in the event you have a patient you would like to refer to the clinic, please call the clinic office at 984-974-2447.

Consultations

A consultation can be obtained 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling the Carolina Consultation Center 800-862-6264 and asking for the neonatologist on call.

Visitor Restrictions

Beginning November 14th, children age 11 and younger currently are not permitted in the Newborn Critical Care Center, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, or Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at UNC Hospitals. Read more >>
