Making an Appointment at the International Travel Clinic

Please schedule your first appointment 4-6 weeks before your trip.

Call 984-974-PEDS (7337) for an appointment with the UNC Children’s Travel Clinic through UNC Children's Primary and Specialty Care at Carolina Pointe II

If this is your child’s first visit to UNC Children’s Hospitals, you should call 984-974-PEDS (7337) to complete registration for your child. Registration will create a unique patient identification number (also known as a medical record number) for your child and is necessary before an appointment can be made.

Before Your Appointment

Please complete a pre-travel consultation form via MyChart prior to your appointment at our clinic so that we can familiarize ourselves with your travel plans and individual medical needs. This questionnaire will ask you to provide details about your itinerary, proposed activities, medical history, medications, and vaccines. Please complete one form for each person traveling who would like to receive services at our clinic.

We will ask permission to access your child’s immunization records ahead of the visit.

Please note that immunizations and medications are not always covered by insurance; We will bill your insurance but cannot guarantee that they will be covered. You can contact your insurance provider before your first appointment to verify your coverage. We accept Medicaid and other insurance plans. The travel clinic visit itself will not be covered by insurance and self-pay is expected.
