Advocacy and Community Service

Transition care to adult specialists can be coordinated by the UNC Turner Syndrome Clinic team. The team works closely with adult medical providers to ensure a smooth transition of care from a pediatric specialty team to adult specialists.

A social worker is available to assist with transition to adult clinics, assist with care management, and ensure that schools are meeting an individual's educational needs.

The UNC Turner Syndrome Clinic partners with the N.C. Chapter of the Turner Syndrome Society to organize opportunities for girls and women with Turner Syndrome to meet each other and learn about various aspects of Turner Syndrome. Periodic luncheons and other social gatherings are organized to provide support to patients and families, but also to just have fun!
