Making an Appointment

Your primary care physician should refer your child to our clinics and likely will schedule the appointment for your child to be seen at our children’s and adolescent allergy, asthma and immunology clinic; or pediatric rheumatology and immunology clinic.

Once a referral is received, our team of schedulers will contact the family to set up an appointment. If this is your child’s first visit to UNC Hospitals, you should call (984) 974-1401 to complete registration for your child. Registration is necessary before an appointment can be made, and it will create a unique patient identification number (also known as a medical record number) for your child.

When you come for your appointment, please bring the patient's insurance information. Prior to your appointment, you should make sure that your referring physician has forwarded all medical records to our office.

Appointment Tips

  • Please arrive on time to your appointment. Chapel Hill patients are to arrive 30 minutes prior to actual appointment time and Raleigh patients are to arrive 15 minutes prior to actual appointment time.
  • If your referring provider is unable to fax us your child’s medical records, please bring a copy of them with you to the appointment.
  • Carefully review the appointment information that will be sent to you, including clinic location, map and billing policy.
  • Please call our office at 919-962-5136 if you have further questions.
