Pediatric Pulmonary Care

Welcome to the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology, which supports internationally recognized clinical and research programs in pediatric lung health. Clinical faculty and staff of the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology combine cutting-edge research, diagnostics, and tested treatment strategies to provide exceptional care to benefit the lives of children with various lung diseases. Because of our commitment to excellence in patient care, teaching, and investigation, the Division has been consistently recognized as one of America’s best children’s pulmonary services by the US News & World Report rankings. We have a skilled team of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and therapists that provides comprehensive clinical and diagnostic services for children with lung diseases. Our basic and clinical scientists are transforming pulmonary care, translating their observations at the bench to the bedside. We are also home to one of the premier fellowship training programs for pediatric pulmonology in North America, producing the next generation of pulmonary scientists, clinicians, and educators.

Clinical Pulmonary Services

The goal of our clinical programs is to improve the health of children living with lung disease, including common conditions like chronic cough, wheezing, asthma, pneumonia, and sleep apnea, as well as pulmonary complications related to premature birth, neuromuscular disorders, and sickle cell disease, working with subspecialty colleagues to provide multidisciplinary care. We provide expert care for rarer lung diseases, such as cystic fibrosis, primary ciliary dyskinesia, interstitial lung diseases, and congenital airway anomalies, treating children from North Carolina, across the nation, and around the world. The Division’s main clinics are on the medical campus at North Carolina Children’s Hospital in Chapel Hill and the North Carolina Children’s Specialty Clinics in Raleigh, but we have other clinics and outreach programs in Wilmington and Greensboro. If your child has an acute or chronic respiratory disorder, join other families who have chosen our internationally renowned physicians to provide care for their children.
